A recent London Times article suggesting that Saddam is making arrangements to leave Iraq via Syria to exile in Libya should Dubya's warmongering come to pass. Presumably this is utterly unrelated to Syria's yes yote on the new inspections regime...
Versen (my 2002 blog)
I used to call this "weh-weh-weh." I posted here, semi-regularly, from April 2002 till January 2003. Then,I abandoned this blog altogether. Now I just post random content here. weh weh weh.

Forget yesterday's GOP blowout, for the moment. Today's Christian Science Monitor has an interesting story about a generation gap in attudes towards war with Iraq. The links at the bottom of the screen are interesting too.

Yahoo! News - Gay Sheep May Help Explain Biology of Homosexuals I'm really not sure what to think about this.
Very interesting post by Mickey Kaus on Slate
this past week, in which he suggests that the deadlock of the 2000 election is likely to continue to be true for some time to come.
I don't know about that. I've noticed many online pundits making the same point, although I have a feeling that we're going to see a definitive Republican victory. DLC-style "New Democrats" will blame the liberals and traditional democrats will blame the DLC, but just as the party in the White House is "supposed" to do badly in the mid-terms, Gore was supposed to win handily two years ago, even with the Nader thorn in his side and the funny business in Florida. Speaking of which; polls open in roughly 12 hours on the east coast...will we see more funny business? I say you betcha. Will the mainstream US press talk about it? I doubt it.
